HALIFAX - Despite being pulled eventually, Saint John goalie Sebastien Auger was a wall during the first period to help his team have a chance against the powerhouse of this year's playoffs. The goalie from quebec faced 24 shots in the first period but only allowed 2 goals during that time to help his Sea Dogs escape the period down 2-1. Auger had to stop some pretty good shots from in close as the Mooseheads battled for puck control and tried to get him tired. He had a lot of help from his defense despite the big gap of shots.

In the second, however, Halifax proved why they were ranked the #1 team most of the season and received the Luc Robitaille Trophy for most offensive team during the regular season. Marty Frk scored a hat trick in the first 11 minutes of the middle frame and scored another as the home team bursted to score 8 goals in the period to put the game out of reach at the end of 40. Sebastien was chased from the net after the Herd's 7th goal (on 38 shots) and was replaced by back up Fournier who allowed 4 goals on 21 shots. Frk would go on to break the franchise record for most points in a single playoff game after he scored his fifth goal to end the game with 8 points. Saint John's only goal came off a rebound when Jason Cameron put it in an half empty net as most of the Moose were looking the other way.
